Frequently asked questions

Having trouble with you subscription? We will try our best to help.

I'm subscribing through Apple's podcast player and can't get episodes to play. What can I do?
It's possible that the episode is already downloaded on your player and it's blocking playback. Try tapping "Library" and then "Downloaded". If the episode is downloaded, you'll hopefully be able to play it from there, or you can delete it and stream it from the "Svarttrost Dok" podcast stream instead.

My card could not be processed when I try to subscribe via Spotify. What can I do?

Sometimes Spotify will not process bank cards when registering. There could be several reasons for this. You can try the following if you have issues with registering the payment card:

  • Check that you register the subscription with the same email address that is linked to your Spotify account.

  • Try registering the subscription in incognito mode (here we recommend the Google Chrome browser).

  • Check that all card details are correct.

  • Check that you do not register while connected to any VPN, and that all ad-blockers in your browser are turned off.

  • Check that your browser is up to date and delete your browser history.

If none of the mentioned steps work, we recommend contacting the Spotify for Podcasters team directly at their customer service.

I subscribe through Spotify and can't get episodes to play. What can I do?

Could it be that you subscribed to Svarttrost Dok with a different email address than the one you are logged in with on Spotify? If different email addresses have been used, Spotify will unfortunately not be aware that you are a subscriber. If that is the case, you can either:

  • Log out of Spotify and log in with the email you registered the subscription with.

  • Cancel your first subscription (through the email you received from Spotify for Podcasters) and then register a new subscription with the same email address you use in Spotify.

  • Alternatively, you can contact the Spotify for Podcasters team directly at their customer service, then they will solve the problem for you by merging the two different accounts. They are very good at helping and respond quickly. Tap the field that says "Start Messaging" on their page to get in touch.

I subscribed to Apple, but listen to podcasts through Spotify (or vice versa). Why doesn't it work?
Apple's podcast player and Spotify are two different platforms and unfortunately do not talk to each other. Therefore, you only get access to our subscription episodes on the platform you subscribe to. Our advice is to subscribe again on the platform you want to hear through, and then cancel your first subscription. At Apple, this is done by going to "Settings", then press your name and select "Subscriptions". For subscribers through Spotify the cancellation can be done via the email you received from Spotify for Podcasters when you subscribed.

Nothing happens when I press the subscribe button in Apple's podcast player. Why?
Could it be that you are not logged in with your Apple ID on your phone? If so, try going to "Settings" on your phone and tap on "Apple ID" which is at the very top. Log in with your Apple ID and check that you have a payment card registered. You can then return to Apple's podcast player and press the "Subscribe" button in the Svarttrost Dok podcast.

I want to cancel my subscription, how do I do that?

You can cancel your subscription at any time by following the link in the email you received from Apple/Spotify for Podcasters when you started the subscription.

In Apple, you can also cancel the subscription by going to settings on your Apple device, tapping on your name and then on "Subscriptions". In the subscription overview, you can click on the subscription you have in Svarttrost Dok and cancel it.

If you can't find the email from Spotify (formerly Anchor) the Spotify for Podcasters team can help you unsubscribe. You can contact them here: Spotify for Podcasters

The solutions you propose here doesn't work for me. What do I do now?
Unfortunately, we do not have access to the subscription systems of Apple and Spotify, and must pass you on to their customer service. In return, they are very good at helping. Spotify users can contact Spotify for the Podcasters team, while Apple users can contact customer service by following this link.
